Liza Minnelli
Daughter of the legendary Judy Garland and dancer Vincent Minnelli, no more dramatic personality has ever been on or off Broadway. Gifted like her mother, her off-stage life has mirrored her mother’s troubled one as well.

Bernadette Peters
This curly-haired, triple-threat, does not seem to have aged in looks or in talent from the day she opened on the “Great White Way” in her first show, “Sunday in the Park with George.

Patti Lupone
Similar in style to Liza in several ways, Patti Lapone brought the character of Eva Peron to life in “Evita.” To this day, no one can imagine anyone else assuming the role, least likely, Madonna in the film version.

Ethel Merman
The late Ethel Merman coined the entertainment world’s most famous slogan with her signature song, “There’s No Business Like Show Business.” Known to be a perfectionist, she had been known to hold the curtain down until everything was just right–according to her.

Elaine Stritch
Her signature song, “The Ladies Who Lunch” from Stephen Sondheim’s show, “Company” has always made Stritch seem like a diva one would like to have lunch with. At 85 years old, she is still killing it in New York theater.

Sarah Jessica Parker
Sarah Jessica’s first role on Broadway was filling the shoes of the original “Annie,” Andrea McArdle. This second, red-haired orphan took center stage and never left it.

Carol Channing
Carol is like the Cal Ripkin, Jr. of Broadway having never missed a performance. This recipient of three Tony Awards has a self-deprecating humor that puts her in the good diva category.

Barbra Streisand
Known for sometimes bad diva behavior, no voice like Streisand’s has ever hit the Broadway stage. Winning the Tony Award for “Funny Girl,” she can be a good diva, too.

Chita Rivera
A triple-threat since 1957′s West Side Story which was followed by the lead in “Bye Bye Birdie,” Rivera was the first female performer of Hispanic descent to achieve a lead role.

Julie Andrews
This English star made her 1954 Broadway debut in “The Boy Friend” and quickly wowed American audiences with her follow-up performances in “Camelot” and “My Fair Lady.”

No matter how you watch TV, whether it’s in your living room or via your 4g wireless internet, you’ve got a favorite show. We can relate and that’s why we want some of the best TV to become musicals – how great would that be!? Here are some shows we’re dying to see interpreted onstage
How I Met Your Mother: But only if Neil Patrick Hariss agrees to star. This is one of the best sitcoms in years and there’s so much potential for interpretation here – wouldn’t you like to see it?
Real Housewives of ___: It doesn’t really matter which Housewives franchise they choose. Better yet, a mixture of all the shows may be the best bet. Can’t you just see a musical fight between Nene and Vicki? Epic.
The Real World: There’s only one thing left to do to this tired franchise and that’s make it into a musical. There are tons of teen stars out there ready and waiting to do something on Broadway and there are no limits to the scope of drama that could be scripted. Better yet: all live!

There are many amazing actors and actresses that are loved by audiences world over but three of the most prolific Broadway actors that come to mind when one thinks of Broadway are Mickey Rooney, Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon, Fosse-s former wife.
Gwen Verdon debuted in, Damn Yankee-s as far back as 1955. Marrying Fosse shortly after he discovered her, she also starred in such musicals on Broadway such as Sweet Charity and Chicago among so many other including Claudine. Ms. Verdon won her first tony for Claudine and her second tony for her performance in damn Yankees. Audiences have enjoyed hours of entertainment as a result of Gwen Verdon-s amazing dance skills and her wonderful voice.
Bob Fosse not only was an incredibly prolific actor starring in musicals such as Damn Yankees, Kiss me Kate. He was also an incredible choreographer of many Broadway shows and movies. Such works as All that Jazz, Sweet Charity, Pippin: His Life and Times and Cabaret. All That Jazz was a poignant look at his own life in which he starred as well as choreographing the entire show. He looks at the dark side of creativity and his own life and death in this piece which premiered Erzabet Foldi who played his real life daughter Nicole.
Jeremy Irons was another prolific actor and winner of the tony award for Broadway productions. Irons starred in a Impressionism, and Godspell as well as a very long run in Law and Order, the TV series.
Broadway actors must be not only proficient actors but stellar singers and dancers as well. These three are among the many hundreds who have dazzled us, made us laugh and cry through the years. Our hats should be off to them as they have provided us with rich entertainment throughout the years.
